We have heard that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. This is true for many men. Now we won't go as far as to say that food is the way to make a man fall in love with you, but every man appreciates not only good food, but the thought that goes into the preparation of that special meal.

1) Let's consider breakfast for starters. How about making him something unique...like "heart-shaped" pancakes perhaps? Not into pancakes? How about trimming the corners off his toast to replicate the heart shape? The butter that accompanies the dish can also be trimmed into a heart shape, and will taste great on toast or pancakes. Yum...

2) The next meal of the day is lunch. Many men take their lunch from home, and this provides you with a great opportunity to show him that you love him. Why not make him a special lunch meal and pack it with a note saying "I love you". He will be quite surprised...especially when he is looking for that "same ole, same ole sandwich".

3) The evening dinner is the main meal of the day for most people. It's a time when you can sit back and relax the most during the day. How about a candlelight dinner with some scented candles? Why not play his favorite soothing and romantic music in the background. Be sure that you make his favorite meal to compliment the evening.

4) While snacks can be eaten throughout the day, a romantic snack is very memorable indeed. Did you have a special treat when you started your dating life? How about a delicious ice cream cone and that walk along the lake? Nobody says that you can't recreate this experience again by "retracing your steps".

Affection

We all need to know that people care about us, and men are included in this group. Sure, they may be the "strong, silent type", but they can still get a teary eye when they watch a sad or romantic movie. To show that special guy that you love him, here are a few ways:

1) A hug is a powerful thing, and it says so much. When he least expects it, come up from behind and give him a big bear hug. Why not whisper into his ear "I love you". Don't do this all the time so that it gets "old". Keep it special and random.

2) Listen to him. Can't get much more simple than that. For many women it so tempting to talk your man's ear off when he gets him. You want to vent and get out your frustrations. For a change, let him talk and you just listen. Don't change the subject to your day, but offer "I'm listening responses" like "I see" or "Hmmm". He will remember your care and concern for him...

3) On the other side of the coin, there are some guys don't like to talk at all when they arrive home from work. Remember, they've been battling the traffic, the clients, the boss, and "who knows" during the day, and they need time to unwind. They will probably talk your ear off once they do relax a bit, but be sure not to pepper them with questions as soon as they get home, or give him the latest version of that "Honey Do List". Just let him unwind a bit...

4) Guys (at least quite a few of them) love a good relaxing massage. Are you gifted in giving a massage? Why not unleash this talent? Start off with the back, and run your fingers through his hair. Give him every opportunity to tell you what he likes and what he doesn't like. What a great way to unwind and prepare for the evening...

Romantic Activities

A lot of guys are very energetic and adventurous. They love to try out new things and test their manliness along the way. Here are some of the things that you can do to show that you love him:

1) You can show your man that you love him is to do something that you would not normally do. For example, perhaps you really hate football. You have made no surprise of this to the guy in your life. Why not put your distain for the sport on hold for a day or two and join him on the couch watching his favorite team? Instead of rolling your eyes and saying "Why are they so brutal"... ask him what a "first down" means. Guys love to show that they are knowledgeable about something, and will love to explain in detail to you the finer points of the game. If he's not into football, but baseball, or basketball, or hockey, well, I'm sure you can figure out what you should ask him if you watch the sport for a few minutes...

2) Does your man have chores that he needs to do? Many guys have something that they need to do around the house on a regular basis. Let's suppose this happens to be taking out the garbage every week. Why not surprise him by taking it out for him? You could say that since he is especially busy this week you thought that you would help him out. Be sure to indicate why...he may think you really enjoy it and you have found you have a new chore around the house.

3) How about a pillow fight? Did you leave this fun behind when you grew up? Who says that you have to? Many of us have had pillow fights back when we were kids and used to jump up and down on the bed. Time to renew this activity. Here's an idea. One night, when you are getting ready for bed, hall off and "wallop" that guy of yours. He'll be taken by surprise, but might get a great kick out of it. Be prepared. He might "wallop" you back, and you are off and running to an energetic little evening.

Compliments Are Great

We all love to be complimented in various ways, on our clothes, or our accomplishments or our thoughtfulness. Here are a few great ways to compliment a guy:

1) Remember to say only nice things about your guy when you are out in public. Tell your friends how special he is, or how hard he works, or how much he cares for others. Word will eventually get back to that special guy of yours. He will be thrilled that all the things he is most proud of have not gone unnoticed by others.

2) Is that guy of yours a fancy dresser sort of a guy? Some guys are, and some, well "not so much". If he is a fancy dresser he will appreciate it when other people notice this fact. Take special notes of a new piece of clothing, or how he has put his style together, and let him know that you notice.

3) Is there anything that the man in your life does that you really appreciate? Perhaps a certain chore around the house? Maybe he does the dishes? Maybe he's good at taking the baby out for a walk? Maybe he makes dinner from time to time? If there is something that he does that you really appreciate, make sure that you let him know.

4) You could always leave some little romantic notes in places that he will find them. Why not put one on the bathroom mirror for example? He will see it when he gets up in the morning. Why not put one on the steering wheel of his car? He will see it when he drives to work in the morning.
